What is DoGood Africa?

DoGood Africa is an initiative that supports and drives sustainable social impact projects across Africa in line with achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals – UNSDG2030. We support and partner with other social ventures and NGOs to achieve the goals by providing funding and technical guidance.

Why should I donate?

We discovered that there is a funding gap for social impact projects and we believe crowdfunding can help bridge that gap. Your donations are used to fund projects that would make an impact where it is most needed.

Why should I donate?

We discovered that there is a funding gap for social impact projects and we believe crowdfunding can help bridge that gap. Your donations are used to fund projects that would make an impact where it is most needed.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes, donations are 100% tax deductible. We are a registered 501c3 non-profit in the US (EIN: 83-3535604). If you have questions or live outside of the United States, please contact your tax advisor.

Do i get donation receipts?

Yes. All donors get a tax-compliant donation receipt sent via email.

Is my payment information safe?

How does DoGood Africa plan to be financially sustainable?

Our long term plan is to fund revenue generating social impact projects, but for now, we are depending on your kind donations and also securing grants in the near future.

What currencies do you support?

We support donations in USD, British Pounds, Euros and Nigerian Naira.

Projects & Social Ventures

How do you select the projects you list?

We select projects from submissions made by our social ventures. We have set of project eligibility criteria that we use to evaluate and review these projects. We only select projects that fulfill these requirements.

What are the project eligibility criteria?

We are looking for projects that meet the following criteria:

1. Sustainable i.e capable of being maintained at a steady level over a period of time

2. Measurable i.e quantifiable social, developmental and economic impact

3. Scalable i.e. repeatable elsewhere without significant increase in cost

4. The maximum life cycle for the execution and completion of each project should not be more than 12 months

5. Spurs economic growth and opportunities

6. “Low cost – High impact" projects. Project budget should not be overly expensive or unrealistic

7. Provide Empowerment to people and communities

8. Have a detailed feasible budget breakdown for the project

9. The ‘project’ or ‘event’ must have a finite outcome. The project outcome should be clear to understand and ascertain

10. In line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs)

What is UN SDGs?

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. The goals have been set be achieved by the year 2030 Learn more from UN’s website here.

Why the UN SDGs?

Sustainability is something we care so much about at DoGood Africa. The UN SDGs blueprint provides the best framework for sustainable development and it was agreed upon by the 193 member states of the United Nations.

What is a Social Venture?

Social Ventures are organizations setup to acheive a sustainable, social objective.

What value do we offer our Social Venture Partners?

We provide funding and key technical support required to successfully execute impact projects.

How do you select the social ventures you work with?

We reach out to reputable organizations that meet our social venture selection criteria. We also evaluate organizations that reach out to us to ensure they meet these requirements. 

What criteria do you look out for in a Social Venture partner?

Our Social Venture partners must meet the following criteria:

1. Have a solid reputable and verifiable track record

2. Must be legally registered as a Non-Profit organization. We would accept non-registered entities or For-Profit businesses on a case by case basis

3. The organization must have been registered with the appropriate body in their home Country for at least 1 year

4. The organization should have a staff strength of at least 3 Individuals and this should be verifiable

5. Should be able to demonstrate a solid organizational structure (Board of Trustees, Management Staff, Operations, Volunteers etc.)

6. Has the grassroots presence required to make community impact

7. Should be willing to provide recent audited financial statements (within the last two years)

8. Can commit to providing regular project updates and status reports

9. The organization should be able to show a track record of team members, achievements and successful projects done in the past

10. The organization is required to be open to an independent audit of funds raised by DoGood Africa

We don’t not allow: Individuals, Political Parties or Affiliates, Organizations that promote violence, criminality, illegal activities, money laundering, terrorism, organizations with questionable track records and religious organizations.

What is your pricing?

We don’t charge the social ventures (NGOs & Non-Profits) to list their project on our platform. We retain only 7% of the funds raised per project to cover project support and the payment processing fees which is roughly about 3%.

Pricing & Impact Fund

What is your pricing?

We don’t charge the social ventures (NGOs & Non-Profits) to list their project on our platform. We retain only 7% of the funds raised per project to cover project support and the payment processing fees which is roughly about 3%.

Do you charge commissions or platform fees?

No. Listing a project on our platform is free.

What is the Do Good Social Impact Fund (DGSIF)?

DSIF is used to fund the implementation of identified sustainable social impact projects across Africa. We commit the funds raised to projects that have been well-vetted with a desirable sustainable impact.

How can i donate to the impact fund?

You can donate directly to the Social Impact Fund here. You can make a one time donation or donate on a recurring basis. We encourage you to give monthly towards our impact fund.

How is the fund managed?

Up to 90% of the funds is allocated to projects we have identified and vetted to meet our criteria. 0 – 20% of the funds is used to cover our operating costs and expenses.
